Rebecca Stancil often seems like a typical 9-year-old girl, playing a sweet child's game of rock, paper, scissors with friends and attending pool parties in her Simi Valley, Calif., neighborhood. In December 2008, after attempting suicide, Rebecca was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, a chronic, severe, and disabling brain disorder.
